Shimla Police file FIR against actor Jeetendra on Sexual case!

Last month, veteran actor Jeetendra was accused of sexual harassement by his cousin. The said incident happened 47 years ago when the alleged vicitm had stayed with Jeetendra in a hotel in Shimla in 1971. She was 18 at the time of incident while Jeetendra was 28. The alleged victim had sent an email to Himachal Pradesh Director General of Police SR Mardi, last month seeking FIR against the actor. SP Umapati Jamwal of Shimla confirmed the report.

Jeetendra had arranged for her to join him from New Delhi to Shimla on the sets of a film he was shooting for. It was during this stay that on one night, he came drunk to her room, joined two twin beds and sexually assaulted her.

The woman has been asked to provide any proof of her stay in the hotel with Jeetendra and she’ll also be recording her statement before the magistrate.

The investigation will be carried out as per old provisions of section 354 IPC, as the said crime happened in 1971, said the SP. The police also said that they haven’t received any proof of her stay in the hotel and neither the name of the hotel by the alleged victim.

As per the complaint, the incident took place in January 1971, when the victim was 18 and Jeetendra was 28. It happened when he “arranged” for the victim to join him from New Delhi to Shimla on the set of his movie without the complainant’s “awareness”.

The alleged victim had claimed that on the night they reached Shimla, Jeetendra returned to the room in an inebriated state, joined the two separate beds and sexually assaulted her.

Jeetendra’s lawyer on the other had denied the allegations as  “baseless and ridiculous”

He told Indian Express,

An FIR under section 354 IPC has been registered at Chotta Shimla police station. After her email, we got in touch with the complainant, who later had also sent us a written complaint to support her version.
